Have you ever wanted a long, thin, three-tined fork?
(Go on, you *know* you have!)
This is _exactly_ what you're looking for...
You will find excuses to use these. You will prepare *dishes* for people which require the use of long, thin, three-tined forks to eat. And late at night, when you are cleaning up, you will chuckle - softly yet maniacally - as you pop them into the dishwasher or wash them at the sink. You know you will.

Norpro Tortilla Keeper Review

Norpro Tortilla Keeper
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
All in all, this is a great little item. I must warn you, though, if you put it in the microwave for the allowable minute or so, make sure to put the lid on upside down.
I put the lid on properly, as any normal person would, and found that once I removed it from the microwave, it had developed a vacuum seal with the main part of the container. I didn't know this is what happened and actually thought at first that it had melted together never to be usable again.
Well, after a while (maybe about ten minutes), the air inside cooled down enough to release the vacuum and I was able to use the container and get to the tortillas that had been imprisoned inside without a fair trial.
I use this often when making Olga-type bread. Unfortunately, it's a little shallow, so doesn't hold too many of those, but for plain flour or corn tortillas, it holds quite a few. I also use this to keep pancakes warm as I'm cooking them up.
In closing, I'd say this was definately worth the money.

Norpro Polished 3-Cup Stainless Steel Hand Crank Sifter Review

Norpro Polished 3-Cup Stainless Steel Hand Crank Sifter
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
My previous sifter has two mesh screens and two rotating wheels. The rotating wheels are activated by a squeezing handle. The most typical design. It was easy to use and quick. However, foods eventually trapped in between the mesh screens and they were impossible to get out. Washing it with water only made the matter worse. This is a very common problem. I had to replace it after only 2 months. Consequently, I shop for an old-fashion single screen sifter -- a sifter I can wash without worrying pieces trap inside the sifter.
After doing much research, I bought this Norpo 3-Cup sifter. It is made of 18/8 stainless steel, fitted with a single hemisphere mesh screen and a rotatable 4-wire agitator. The stainless steel body is rigid and the rotatable hand crank is smooth. Washing it is simple. The sifting is easy and the resulting flour is good. The price tag was slightly less than $10 which is very cheap, especially it was offered via the 4-for-3 program, so I probably only paid ~$8 for it.
Now, there are issues when I get this product. Although the product arrived relatively undamaged, it was not packed properly and it could have been badly damaged. The mesh screen was pushed slightly out of shape when it arrived and I had to mold it back to allow better contact with the 4-wire agitator. I assume the product was fine when it left the factory and the mesh screen was altered during shipping. These two problems do not directly speak about this product, but rather the potential problems when buying online. Because this is a single mesh screen sifter, the sifted flour is not quite as fluffy as my previous two screens sifter. Although the rotating action of this sifter is pretty simple, it is still not as simple to use as the hand-squeeze ones. In addition, the sifter action from the agitator can flick tiny amount flour outside of the cup, causing you to clean up the mess afterall. Despite its minor drawbacks, this sifter provides exactly what I am looking for and I am very happy.
I highly recommend this sifter if you are looking for a functional sifter which foods will not get stuck and easy to wash.

Norpro Cast Iron Pig Bacon Grill Press Review

Norpro Cast Iron Pig Bacon Grill Press
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Just had a chance to try out the bacon press tonight for BLT's--it works great! We love our bacon nice and crisp, and this little press does the job great and seems to speed up cooking time (perhaps because the cast iron "holds in the heat" while the bacon fries?). Bacon was crisp and delicious; the press prevents bacon curling and relieves you of the neverending task of flipping bacon over and over and over again when cooked conventionally. This press is a great addition to my kitchen; only gave it 4 stars, simply because it isn't quite as heavy as I would like, although it still performs well. Just make sure you season it before first use (directions in the box---just oil the press, oil a frying pan, then heat both together on VERY low heat for 20 minutes. Allow to cool and wipe excess oil off press). But don't use it with nonstick pans!

Even the best cut bacon can curl, making it difficult to cook evenly. The cast iron bacon press flattens the bacon, keeping it's shape for even cooking and the wooden handle stays cool while the press is in use.To speed up the process, pre-heat the press.

Progressive International Decorating Set Review

Progressive International Decorating Set

When i bought these, it was the cheapest set i could find with the tips that i wanted. I love them! They work great, and are still in great condition after all the use i have put into them. I really like this set. The only thing i didn't like so much was that the container it came is in kinda lousy, its just a snap close box with a bendable plastic insert to hold the tips. i thought the case was custom made, but its just got a cheap piece of plastic to hold them in that you can take out. Other than that i love it!

Deluxe Pastry Blender Review

Deluxe Pastry Blender
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I am puzzled by the one star review for this product. Though I did not purchase through Amazon, I am here searching for the product I own so that I can get more for friends. No one in my area carries them. I own the Norpro professional pastry blender. It looks identical to the item pictured here. (The four blades are not common on the other pastry blenders I've seen, and the design of this one is different enough from the standard Norpro blender that it is easy to differentiate.) I make my pastry with cold butter and this is the only pastry blender I have tried that doesn't bend under the resistance of the hard, cold, butter. All other blenders I have tried have such flimsy wires or blades that I can move them with my fingers. These blades do not bend under pressure whether from my fingers or the hard butter. I don't understand why even my local kitchen specialty store doesn't carry them. The "heavy duty" Norpro blender they carry is nowhere near as strong as this. If this truly is the product pictured, it is the best.

All of my Norpro brand products are made in the USA; however, this cheese cutter was made in China. This one is nicely made, but I wish it were heavier/thicker. It cuts cheese nicely though, so I'm satisfied.

Norpro 367 Natural Cheese Cloth Review

Norpro 367 Natural Cheese Cloth
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I can't believe how much money I've wasted on the cheap (expensive!) crap at the grocery store. For making stock, those are way too "holey" and trying to wash them to reuse is ridiculously impossible. In any event, if you make stock and end up with that gritty brown stuff at the bottom of your pot, you'll know what I'm talking about. (even after you've strained two times with that cheap stuff at the grocery store and "specialty" kitchen stores!)
I only cut one piece of this cloth so far (maybe 1/3 of original size) and have made gallons of stock and it's still strong as ever. My stock now comes out completely pure and clear, no grit at the bottom of the pot.
I can't believe how well this thing works and to top it off, I think that one small piece I cut off the cloth is going to last forever. It's large enough to lay over my metal strainer and I cook 20 quarts of stock at a time. I now only have to strain once. Whoopee!!!
To the person who says it shrinks. Well, that could be but you must have eagle eyes to figure out how much. No I do not put it in the dryer. why would you do that? I wash it out in the sink, soak it in a small bath with 1 tbs of bleach, rinse, then hang off my cabinet door knob to dry. I admit I skipped the bleach soak the last time and none of us got sick.
I kept thinking there had to be something else better out there and I FINALLY found it.
Buy it, you won't regret it.
P.S. I still use the cheap expensive stuff from the grocery store but only for Bouquet garni. I don't mind throwing out a few inches of that stuff, but treat this purchase like gold.

Progressive International Regular Scoop Colander Review

Progressive International Regular Scoop Colander
Average Reviews:

I just love this scoop colander. You don't realize how large this scoop actually is from the picture and i'm so glad i got the regular size. It can handle larger portions of rice, pasta etc...and be just as useful for smaller portions unlike the small scoop. I pour out my rice and/or pasta into this colander over the sink and return it to the pot just as easily as it came out without spillage, and i don't necessarily have to wash up dishes first to make room for a regular colander. This thing is great i don't what more i can say.

Crock Pot 5-Piece Tool Set Review

Crock Pot 5-Piece Tool Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I received these and tried a few out over the last couple of days, and they seem pretty nice. Be aware, the tongs are kind of large, an have a wide profile and flat bottom edges. Also, though the set pictures a slotted spoon, I actually received a second spatula, the second not slotted, instead of the spoon. I'm not sure if everyone will, or if this was temporary or an error.

Norpro 3775 Muffin Rings, Set of 4 Review

Norpro 3775 Muffin Rings, Set of 4
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Used these this morning for making crumpets for Xmas breakfast. Worked beautifully. I didn't have to try to keep all the crumpets the same shape, didn't have to chase the batter all over the skillet. Very handy tool. My only problem was that my largest skillet will only hold 1 at a time flat (the second starts climbing the slanted side). So it took a while to make a batch, but maybe I just need to invest in a larger skillet! :)
I shut one of them in the drawer this morning, and it didn't damage it or warp it out of shape at all, so they're pretty sturdy.
