(More customer reviews)This steamer insert is too large to use in smaller pots, so be sure to measure and make sure your pot is at least 7" wide on the inside. The feet won't scratch your pot, and removing the cooked vegetables is much easier without the center post common to cheaper steamers. With this one, I can just use a large spoon to scoop out the items, or if I want I can hoist the entire steamer out of the pan by grabbing the rings on the sides, but that's pretty tricky when it's fully of steaming veggies.

(More customer reviews)I bought this rice cooker to replace an old aluminum bowl rice cooker that was starting to show a lot of wear and tear after many years of use. I spent a lot of time searching for a rice cooker that wasn't made with aluminum or those non-stick surfaces. I was delighted to find this one that has a stainless steel bowl and steaming basket. It really looks a lot nicer than the picture on the page shows, so I thought it would be great to do a video so you could see it.
I use it practically every day for one thing or another and like the nice 8 cup size. I make brown rice, wild rice, lentil soup, pea soup, steel cut oatmeal, quinoa, barley and other whole grains. Everything seems to come out perfectly and clean-up is easy. I usually set the bowl in the sink with some warm water in it for about 10 minutes and then just sponge out any remaining residue.
Two thumbs up for this great rice/grain/other stuff cooker!

The Cook-Zen Microwave Pot Review

(More customer reviews)When considering this purchase, I was a bit put off by the price -- it seemed too expensive. I was having my kitchen remodeled and would not be able to cook in it for a while. I was trying to find ways in which I could still cook and eat healthy. When I saw this item, it appeared to be a product in which I could put all the ingredients into it, pop it into the microwave, and presto -- a complete, healthy, Japanese meal!
So it seemed that this would be perfect for me, so I bit the bullet
and purchase both the Zen Cooker and the recipe book.
The recipes (if you purchase the related book) are good, but unfortunately to
cook a complete meal (rice, vegetables, main dish) you have to cook all
separately and thus have the problem of keeping them all warm, etc.
The Zen cooker works well, the cookbook recipes are good, but for the
money I put out and what I expected to get out of it -- I was disappointed.
