(More customer reviews)I've used this slow cooker twice while I was at work and contacted the company because the food was bubbling fiercely and caked to the sides after cooking on low all day. They told me that the low and high settings use the same temperature, but the high setting gets there faster. The appliance is beautiful and the quality seems to be very high, but if I can't cook a meal while I'm at work, then I have no use for it. This one's going to Goodwill.

(More customer reviews)It heats up evenly and its large oval shape makes it perfect for roasters. I do shredded pork sandwiches by pouring root beer over a roast, draining it, then adding BBQ sauce and shredding. Yummy. The rubber piece around the lid holds in all the flavor and the timer lets me cook as long as I want. I'm never at the mercy of some non-cook's merciless programming. Only caution is that you need to learn how to clean the black pot. It will develop a white coating. This is easy fixed with white vinegar, but it takes a little diligence to make sure that t is always clean. I looked all over for the right pot for me, and this was it. If your needs are the same - go for it.

(More customer reviews)We have a family of 7 and required a larger crock pot. This one is excellent as it holds twice what we could normally get in our old crock pot. As the exterior is stainless steel, it does get hot. But the upside is that the cooking time is about the same if not better than with the smaller pots. Definetely worth the investmest if you are cooker for larger groups.

(More customer reviews)I bought this crock-pot specifically for traveling, and I bought a "crock pot travel bag" to go with it. The first time traveling, my soup spilled everywhere (even though we carried it upright). The lock kept the meat and veggies in, but I had a huge mess to clean up when I got to work, and I lost a good inch of liquid as a result. I will be more careful next time and pack it in the car on the floor with towels, but the entire reason I bought a locking-lid crock pot was so I wouldn't have to go to all that bother.
It is very handsome, though, and cooks nicely.
EDIT -- Later today, I was taking the crock pot home. The food inside was warm, but not hot. It had been on the "warm" setting for hours and was turned off completely for 15 minutes before being packed up. I locked the lid, and 15 minutes later in the car *pop* the lid shattered.
Very, very dissapointing.

Crock Pot SCV700-B 7 Quart Black Oval Slow Cooker Review

(More customer reviews)I hesitate to give this a one star rating, but there is no zero. This item is nice looking, but beyond that it is extremely unsafe. Ok, it's downright dangerous! Right after I got it, I noticed that the sides got so hot that you could actually burn yourself by just bumping into it. I actually had to use pot holders just to move it. It boils liquids even on low or warm settings. After that, it began to leak all over the counter even when using slow cooker bags. That was when I noticed that it had been getting so hot that it actually cracked the ceramic pot insert causing the leaks. Do not waste your money with this cheap product. It does not last long enough for you to get your hard earned 25 dollars out of it.
