(More customer reviews)I purchased two of these in December 2009 at $4.95 each. I thought that price was expensive, so you can imagine what I think of Amazon's current price of $16.22. They are worth what I paid for them, and this review should be considered in light of that price, not the current one, which I would never pay. I'm still getting used to cooking tools made of silicone. In this case, I don't think that this particular silicone baster works as well as regular bristle basters. Maybe it's just me still getting use to it, but the silicone seems sloppy when applying marinade and doesn't cover as well. So, functionally, I still prefer bristle brushes.
On the positive side, it cleans up well in the dishwasher, better than bristle basters that I usually had to run through twice. There will be no more shedding, which the bristle basters do. I really was sick and tired of the bristles getting into the food. The acrylic handle is sturdy and very attractive.
