Le Creuset Enameled Cast-Iron 2-Quart Heart Casserole, Red Review

I've used my Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware for over 10 years; I'd be lost without it. The excellent heat retention and even heat distribution allow you to cook over low-medium heat; you'll save energy and your cookware will last longer. But who am I kidding?--I bought my Le Creuset pans because they're pretty and oh so French! That they're energy efficient, sturdy, and easy to clean are just bonus points.
Although I own a set of the cobalt blue pans, the heart shaped red pan with lid is my favorite Le Creuset piece. It would make a great Mother's Day or Valentine's Day gift; then again it would make a wonderful present to yourself!

Le Creuset Mini Cocotte Sets Review

I noticed that in the photos they show 2 different styles of these cocottes (one shown individually with a black knob on top, and the sets with ceramic knobs on top). So, I decided to write to Le Creuset and ask about what the differece was. Here is what I was told. BEWARE b/c these sets are stoneware that are made China NOT cast iron that are made in France like their other products!
"Thank you for contacting Le Creuset. Be advised that we offer the mini in cast iron as well as the stoneware. The difference is that the cast iron has enamel on the bottom and has a black knob, while the ceramic has the same color knob and a non enameled bottom. The cast iron is made in France and the stoneware is made in China."

Le Creuset Enamel-on-Steel 8-Quart Covered Stockpots Review

Compared to my favorite Calphalon Commercial Hard Anodized 8-Quart Stock Pot, the Le Creuset 8-Quart Stockpot is much lighter and easier to lift and carry when filled with liquid. This stockpot is not enamel-coated cast iron like the Le Creuset pots and pans, but the colors are identical. It heats up very quickly in comparison, too. Soups, stews, and stocks cook well in this pot because the lid is tight-fitting. I would like it for a second stock pot in this size. I like the Calphalon stock pots better because they all have pasta or steamer inserts.
The Le Creuset Red Pots are not the same cherry red like their famous heart-shaped 2-Quart Pan, but a slighter deeper shade.
