(More customer reviews)Well, after reading the reviews for these, and for similar items, I really did not want to order these online and have them delivered. I figured they'd arrive broken and I'd have to return them. After going to 5 places (Pottery Barn, Target, Crate and Barrel, Sur La Table and William Sonoma) without finding anything like what I wanted I bit the bullet and ordered these. Miracle of miracles, they arrived today in perfect shape! It's a miracle because, as the other reviewers said, the packing was seriously inadequate. The original box was just placed inside another box. The outer box wasn't even marked "Fragile". I guess the UPS folks were feeling very gentle this last week. Anyway, I think they're pretty cool and if you order them I hope they come to you intact!

Brown French Onion Soup Crocks, Set of 2 Review

(More customer reviews)My husband and I both have difficulty holding onto soup bowls, but for different reasons. We had two French Onion Soup Crocks that didn't have a lip around the inside rim when we were first married and loved them, but one of them got broken.
I've been looking for many years for a replacement. For years the only French Onion soup bowls available had this lip around the inside of the rim, which made cleaning them all but impossible, even in the dishwasher.
Then I found these bowls and, amazingly, somebody finally figured out not to make them with an inner lip. I haven't actually used them yet, but they are exactly what I was looking for. I'm ordering two more for when we have company.

White French Onion Soup Crocks, Set of 2 Review

(More customer reviews)These crocks are a nice size, so they can be used for more than just French onion soup. They make handy little casserole dishes, as well. They are sturdy and clean easily. They heat up quickly. I like gooey cheese to be on the top of my soup, and the rim is designed so that the cheese forms a nice little crust across the top. Good value.
